RAMMSTEIN / LEIBE IST FOR ALLE DA

This is the latest from German Industrial Metal band Rammstein and 2009 finds the band in good form, everything we have come to know and love about the band is here, if not ever more so than before.

The fact that the band sings only in their native tongue (apart from the odd exception) gives the band a no compromise stance and its this attitude that the band portray really well, take the first single “Pussy”, this is a damned fine song but because of the sexually explicit nature of the lyrics will never be played on radio, shame but there it is.  The album kicks off with “Rammlied” witch has a great Metal riff and plenty of melody, if your looking for something slower then “Furling In Paris” is the track for you with its very catchy whistling in it similar to Scorpions “Wind Of Change” and could be just as big next spring.

This is yet more proof that Rammstein are the best at what they do and well deserving of your attention, or should that be Achtung!!  Listen out for “Mehr”, “Ich Tu Dir Weh”, “Haifisch” and the title track “Leibe Ist Fur Alle Da”.  There is a limited edition with a bonus disc and a special collector’s edition in a box with bondage gear in it, how many other bands would do that?

KITTIE / IN THE BLACK

Its been a while since Canadian female Metal band Kittie had a new album out so its good to be able to report to you that their 5th albums is one of the best albums for some time and the girls are back on top form.

Now signed to Massacre Records in Europe, In The Black is where their bank account should be after this release, there are a few songs on here with titles that have been used before, such as “My Plague”, (Slipknot) “Now Or Never” (Elvis) but they don’t sound anything like the songs with the same name.  The bands sound is as heavy as always and no one can doubt the Metal content of “Cut Throat” or “Ready, Aim, Riot” or “Die My Darling” (not a Misfits cover), “Sleepwalking” is a great Metal tribute to Somnambulism and “Whiskey Love Song” definitely sounds as if its written form personal experience.

If you liked Kittie in the early days then you will love this CD, it’s a purrfect return to form and gets the Justin seal of approval, with honours, go get it NOW.
