JUSTIN’S METAL REVIEWS W/C 2/6/08

DISTURBED / INDESTRUCTABLE

2008 sees Disturbed return to form, this is their 4th album and it’s a harder, darker affair than previous efforts and to my ears is much better for it, they still have their commercialism but it doesn’t dominate.

One thing that sets Disturbed apart form the rest is the vocal style, the words are delivered in a staccato style that is very tight with the rhythm of the guitar and drums, listen to the track “The Curse”, “The Night” or “or the atmospheric “Haunted” and only on a couple of songs dose he do that annoying ah, ah, ah, ah, sound.  The tracks “Perfect Insanity” and “Inside The Fire” are the best choices for singles and represent the album well but this CD shines best when they experiment a little more with their sound as in the title track or “Enough”, the other thing you notice is their use of keyboards, they are subtle but very effective.

For me this is without doubt the best Disturbed album since their debut, its hard edged, darker and more aggressive and benefits immensely from it and as you would expect the musicianship is second to none and deservedly makes album of the week.
