SYSTEM OF A DOWN / HYPNOTIZE

To write one really good album in a year is amazing, to write two in the same year is exceptional but that’s just what System Of A Down have managed to do with the promised 2nd album "Hypnotize", the partner to "Mezmerize" that came earlier this year (2004).

The package is cleverly designed to fit into the first part to make a very nice double digipak; musically it’s a litter darker and heavier than the first one as the first single "Hypnotize" proves. The heavier side kicks in as soon as you press play with the aptly named "Attack" and "Dreaming" is just as relentless and aggressive, "Kill Rock N Roll" would and probably will make a good single and if you think the band are losing the mad streak check out "Vicinity Of Obscenity" and "She’s Like Heroin" for proof that they have not. The CD finishes off where the first began with a full version of "Soldier Side".

Its been a good year for SOAD fans and I am sure 2006 will be just as good, even if you’re not normally a fan this may well change all that, another fine release that gets the Justin seal of approval, the seals are barking as I type this out, now where did I put the fish?
