SLIPKNOT / 9.0 LIVE

I have to say that Live albums are usually things I stay clear of, I admit that they do serve a purpose and that It’s better for a fan to have a proper recording rather than being ripped off with inferior quality bootlegs and this is exceptional album that brings back fond memories.

I don’t know how much post production, if any was done to the recordings but all the tracks are perfect and do capture the truly magnificent, chaotic splendour that is Slipknot live and if you have ever been to a Slipknot this will bring all the memories flooding back and it is a permanent reminder of the gig. The lion’s share of material comes from their first proper album and that’s just as it should be with a fair split between the other two. All the singles are here (with the exception of "My Plague") and all the tracks benefit from a more aggressive feel that good live albums can capture and prove that the band live can rarely be beaten. It finish’s off with a total Metal classic that always goes down well in the Metal Clubs "Surfacing".

If like me you don’t normally buy live CD’s you may want to make an exception for this one and I get the feeling this is drawing the line under their career so far, where to next, is anyone’s guess, time alone will.
