PRIMORDIAL / THE GATHERING WILDERNESS

All the major Rock Mags have bee raging about Primordial and with good reason, Primordial is an apt name for the band as it describes in one word what the band sound like that would take me a whole sentence to achieve.

Their sound is Pagan Metal, (which is the missing link between Stoner and Doom) and has its roots firmly in traditional, almost folk music, dense, rhythmical, simplistic but powerful chord patterns with primal emotive song structure that appeals to the sub consciousness. Like Stoner Metal the songs are in no hurry to go anywhere, one minute plus is the norm for an intro here but this does give the band plenty of scope to explore the music’s full potential. This is aptly demonstrated by the opening track "The Golden Spiral" and the title track, if you like early My Dying Bride and Cadlemass, you will love this.
