OPEN HAND / YOU & ME

Trustkill are know for their Hardcore releases but this CD buck the trend completely as its concise, commercial Stoner Rock, that is at once, very catchy and very listenable.

Sounding like an amalgam of Fu Manchu, Orange Goblin and Foo Fighters all rolled into one with a touch of Psychedelia, you can’t fail to be seduced by the simple harmonies and 4 chord structures of the songs and the ambience they purvey is very enticing. Even though I write this review in December, in an English winter it invokes the feeling of long hot lazy summer night by an ocean somewhere, with the last rays of the sun glinting of a long cool drink, the air heavy with heat and the sent of flowers, perfect surfing music. The fact that all the songs are uncommonly short for Stoner Rock makes this so unlike anything around at the moment that it can’t fail.

Best tracks; "You & Me", "Pure Concentrated Evil", "Touch Guy", "Crooked Crown" and "Trench Warfare" to name but a few. If your suffering from winter blues this is the perfect aural antidote.
