NEVERMORE / THIS GODLESS ENDEVOUR

Nevermore have been around for 10 years now and they are still one of the most under rated bands around, despite having released some classic albums they seem to be criminally ignored by the majority of the Metal fraternity, hopefully this will be rectified with this their latest album, its not just good its inspired bordering on genius.

It’s not just the blinding creative Metal that sets them above the rest, how many vocalists these days have such a unique vocal style that you can tell who they are instantly and that’s just what Nevermore have in Warrel Dane. The other thing you notice is how good the lyrics are, their not just intelligent, they’re caustic, succinct, concise and to the point and are very scathing of the social and political state of the world today, take the lyrics from the track "Final Product" for instance. "The media loves the latest tragic suicide, they exploit it, they package it and profit from the people who die" and that’s just one verse from one track, there are plenty more just as good.

Other tracks t listen out for are, "Medicated Nation", "Bittersweet Feast", "Psalm Of Lydia" and the 8 minute epic and twisting title track. I have been a fan of Nevermore since 1996’s "The Politics of Ecstasy" and this CD just confirms how good the band are, wake up and don’t miss out on a damn fine record.
