KREATOR / ENEMY OF GOD

And the winner of first Metal review of 2005 goes to………….. German Thrash Metal band Kreator, with their CD, "Enemy Of God" and damn fine it is too.

It’s been nearly 4 years since "Violent Revolutions" was released and a lot has changed in the Metal scene since then but thankfully Kreator haven’t changed much. Their songs are still brutally heavy but with a slightly melodic touch but the patent killer riffs are still very much in control, you only have to listen to "Impossible Brutality" to hear what I mean and that’s just one track. There are a couple of lighter atmospheric moments, lie the start of "Voices Of The Dead" and the enigmatic last track "The Ancient Plague" but if mind blowing Metal your after just listen to "Suicide Terrorist", "Murder Fantasies" or "When Death Takes It’s Dominion" and you wont fail to be impressed.

Kreator are now in their 20^th year and with material as strong as this there is no reason why they should go on for another 20, this is a fine start to 2005 let’s hope other bands can do as good as this. There is a limited edition with a bonus DVD which makes this an essential purchase.
