ILL NINO / ONE NATION UNDERGROUND

If you listen closely to the music Ill Nino create there are so many different and diverse influences going on its a minor miracle that they don’t pull the songs apart completely or end in total chaos but far from this they actually posses a cohesion that give the band their unique sound.

If you need proof of this listen to the first track off the CD, "This Is War", it starts off with a heavy Sepultura type riff and effortlessly morphs into a cool Latin jazz groove, (worthy of Santana) and back again to the heavy riffs so smoothly you don’t notice when it happens. This is repeated throughout the album and is Ill Nino’s strength, especially if you have a short attention span, add to this fact that they are multi lingual and lapse into Spanish at the drop of a sombrero, not to mention the Linkin Park style melodic chorus’s and you have something very special.

The other stand out tracks are "All I Ash For" which has such a good hook it could be Top 10 in my book easily and the stylish but vengeful "What You Deserve" and last but not least the cool "My Pleasant Torture" which is a slower more thoughtful groove to it that is a welcome as a warm summer breeze.
