GRAND MAGUS / WOLF’S RETURN

This is a side project that features J.B. (from Spiritual Beggars) on Guitar and Vocals and to my mind is actually better than their current album, it differs in sound and emphasis and is more a kin to Corrosion Of Conformity mixed with Monster Magnet, sort of up tempo Stoner Metal.

One listen to the swagger of "Kingslayer" and you will be totally taken with the cool riffing and despite being a 3 piece they have a very big sound. This is their 3^rd album and the best so far, there is much more of a Nordic feel to the songs and they do use traditional instruments to great effect on a couple of times. The title track, "Blood Oath" and "Ashes" are all great Metal songs and deserve to be heard.

If you like the current Candlemass CD you will love this just as much and when someone mentions Grand Magus you won’t have to go who?
