FORCE OF EVIL / BLACK EMPIRE

This band has quite a pedigree, both the guitarists are in Mercyful Fate, (Michael Denner, and Hank Sherman) the rhythm section is from King Diamond’s band and the vocalist is borrowed from Iron Fire, put them all together in a studio with one Neil Kernon and what you have is a top notch Metal outfit with class a plenty.

What makes this CD even more interesting is that the album has a theme, all the songs are based on classic horror films, yes I know Iced Earth did this a couple of years ago but a good idea is still a good idea and it works well. The films that inspired the songs are, Candyman, "Cabrini Green", Friday the 13^th, "Hobbs End" The Omen, "Days Of Damien" and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, "Dead In Texas" you get the picture ! (No pun intended) put this together with some killer metal riffs with enough aggression and brutality for everyone and you have a class Metal album.

Mercyful Fate and the King have been at the forefront of Euro Metal for decades and now you can see why; this will do very nicely until the next Fate or King album comes out.
