A lot of money has been spent by several labels trying= to make Hardcore more popular, I personally don’t think it will ever gain mainstream success with the possible exception of Killswitch Engage, God Forbid, 36 Crazyfists and now Atreyu.

The mix of Hardcore vocals and harmonies is a difficult one to balance and only the aforementioned bands have got it right and now the = new kids on the block Atreyu, with their intelligent gothic tinged lyrics coupled with that abrasive riffing guitars makes for an interesting listen. The track "Right Side Of The Bed" is a prime example of how it can work well and appeal to quite a wide audience, even my fried Arathorn likes them and he’s primarily a Black / Death Metal fan so it can work.  If you are looking to find a prime example of what can be achieved with Melodic Hardcore you would do well to check this out.
