SAXON / LIONHEART

By my reckoning Saxon have been going some 28 years or more and you don’t have that sort of longevity without dedication, talent and a good deal of luck and lets face it Saxon have all three.

They have survived, NWOBHM, 80’s Power Metal, Grunge, Hardcore, Nu Metal and lived to tell the tale and that is their greatest strength, telling stories through the medium of Rock, like wandering minstrels of the 21st Century, telling tale of bravery, corruption and honour, fighting against all odds. Think of your favourite Saxon songs and what have they in common, "747", "Dallas 1pm", "Crusader", "And The Bands Played On", they all based on actual events and Lionheart their latest is no different.

It kicks off with the dark ages "Witchfinder General", then moves on the Richard the Lionhaeart, goes onto 18th Century Japan with the Samurai and finishes with more up-to-date issues with "justice" and ""Man And Machine" al accompanied with the unmistakable Saxon riffs. Classic Metal such as this will never die. Best tracks; "Man And Machine", "Lionheart", "Justice" and "Fighting Man ‘O’ War".
