When a band have a best of put out it’s usually for one of three reasons, it’s Christmas, they’ve split or moved label, thankfully it’s neither of the first two and the result of them moving to the now legendary SPV is this best of.
There is no point in beating around the bush, I like Rhapsody, they are the best thing to come out of Italy since the Pizza, their style of Epic Power Metal laced with Fantasy imagery is total escapism and coupled with superb musicianship it’s an unbeatable combination.
So what’s on it, well only the best of the best, there are 4 tracks from the first 1997 "Legendary Tales" and "Symphony Of Enchanted Lands", 3 from "Dawn Of Victory" the title tracks form the mini CD Reign Of A Thousand Flames" and 4 from "Force Of The Dragonflame". Here is a rather good boxed version that has a bonus CD ROM track, poster and band cards but the normal CD is just as good. If you are not familiar with Rhapsody this is a brilliant way to find out what they are all about.
