PROJECT: FAILING FLESH / A BEAUTIFUL SICKNESS

While trawling the net in search of new music the other week I came across this little gem, I downloaded an MP3 form the label site bought the CD and here it is.

When I first heard it, it reminded me a bit a Voivod and upon checking I found that the vocalist Eric Forrest used to be in said band, their sound could be described as Industrial Death Metal, drawing from such Metal luminaries as Machine Head, Emperor, Fear Factory and Voivod. The latter influence adds an Avant-garde twist to their sound and all sorts of instruments crop up, organ, violin, piano and some very odd time changes; similar in a way to the Scarve CD I reviewed earlier this year.

This is not an easy CD to listen to but it is a very interesting and rewarding one, best tracks; "A Beautiful Sickness", "Planet Dead", Entrance Wound", "Scene Of The Crime" and a very good version of the Venom song "Warhead".
