MEGADETH / THE SYSTEM HAS FAILED

There are 3 things you need to know about the reformed Megadeth,

1. Chris Poland is back.

2. David Mustain’s biting socio-political lyricism is on top form again.

3. They still no how to kick ass with style.

4. It’s nice to have them back, 4 oh hell that’s 4, I’ll start again.

The fact that Megadeth are back is really good enough but to have them back on top form and I’m talking "Symphony Of Destruction", "Peace Sells" era, (yes that good) is more than any Deth Head could have hoped for. The rifftastic "Kick The Chair", the overtly political "Blackmail The Universe" and the hook laden "Die Dead Enough" are all welcome additions to the Megadeth arsenal. The interplay between Poland and Mustane is as good as it ever was, trading lead breaks like there’s no tomorrow, don’t get me wrong I loved Marty’s contributions but its nice to have Chris back.

Who else could write a song like "The Scorpion" with it’s sardonic sense of irony or the reflective "Back In The Day", which just has to be Dave looking in the rear view mirror. If you a Megadth fan or not you will have to agree this is a top notch CD.
