The band come form Canada and are best described as Neo Classical, Progressive Death Metal, I know it sounds a bit of an odd mix like a Frankenstein’s monster but to my ears it has the best of everything and works really well.
If you took Yngwie Malmsteen and put him into Six Feet Under and added a little of Dream Theatre you have a close approximation of what Into Eternity have created. Right from the first track "Splintered Visions" (sample featured on the Feb 04 show) they let you know what you are in for the twin lead guitars of Tim Roth and Rob Doherty let lose the arpeggio’s with a vengeance and it sounds like Yngwie gone mad and then the Death Metal vocals kick in and throw you completely off kilter. As well as the typical Death vocals there are straight vocals and getting the mix of this is very difficult as other bands have found out but Into Eternity do it to perfection adding layered harmonies when that touch of melody is needed and letting rip when called for.
Best tracks; "Splintered Visions", "Spiralling Into Depression", "3 Dimensional Aperture", "Isolation" and "`Point Of Uncertainty".
