IN FLAMES / SOUNDTRACK TO YOUR ESCAPE

When In Flames released "Reroute To Remain" a couple of years back the world suddenly sat up and took notice of how good the band are so a lot is riding on this new one, you need not worry as it is a worthy successor.

This is by no means Reroute part 2, what In Flames have done is to refocus their energy and come up with a few new twists here and there to keep the momentum going and they have succeeded. All the former elements are here, great riffs, the Gothic tinges and their unique vocal style but this time there is also an added depth, brought to the soundscape by some very good keyboard touches that add a new dimension but don’t distract you from the main sound.

The first single from the album "The Quiet Place" is a prime example of what I am getting at, it throttles back from red lining and gives the song time to breathe and thus gives it more depth and make song stronger without losing its edge and this in a nutshell is what they have done with the whole album. Catch them on tour and witness their power first hand. The extra track on the digi version is "Discover Me Like Emptiness" and like the song title suggests is a powerful song with open spaces, full of power.
