I think I’ve gone down on record as saying that Hardcore Metal is the least favourite of the genres so if I spend my hard earned cash on that sort of CD it has to be good and this is.
The thing that sets God Forbid apart is the superb guitar work that keeps you interested all the time, yes it’s aggressive and it has that feel of desperation out it but the mix of straight vocal chorus’s and gruff verses works very well and sets them apart form the rest of the pack and they even use a piano on a couple of tracks.
The media are calling this the new wave of American Metal and out of the current breed, Hatebreed, Red Tape, et al God Forbid are for my money the best of the bunch, so if your going to dip your toe in the Metal Hardcore pool this is the one to try.
Best tracks; "Washed Out World", "Better Days", "Force Fed" and "Judge The Blood"
