GOD DETHRONED / THE LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM

The Dutch Death Metal band God Dethroned return with a new guitarist, new bassist and this has revitalised the bands sound and hopefully their fortunes, now with a touch of Black Metal thrown in for good measure, they are more polished and set to grab your interest.

The title is taking from a book by Bram Stoker and the imagery of the lyrics is very strong throughout, ranging from the history lesson of "Arch Enemy Spain" to the battle cry of "Last Sip Of Spit". The new guitarist really does make a difference, the lead runs are awe inspiring and breathe taking to listen to, for proof of this listen to "Nihilism" and the metallic monster that is "Loyal To The Crown Of God Dethroned. This really is a return to from sounding more like "Ravenous" than the last effort.

If you had given up on God Dethroned, think again, they’re back. Best tracks; "Sigma Enigma", "Loyal To The Crown Of God Dethroned" and "Arch Enemy Of Spain". There is a version with a free DVD, this is interesting but not essential so if yours doesn’t have it, don’t worry.
