FEAR FACTORY / ARCHETYPE

When Dino Cazares left Fear Factory early in 2003 it was widely reported that that was the end of the band, however I am pleased to say that the demise of Fear Factory was somewhat exaggerated as Archetype proves they are still functioning very well thank you.

So is it any different form what we have come to know and love from the FF, well yes it is a slightly different band, you cant lose a long term member like that and not feel a thing however it is still Fear factory as we know and love them.

Anyone expecting Digimortal part 2 may be disappointed but how do you follow up such a magnificent album well you don’t you go back to what you know, the original plan or in this case Archetype. The sound has been stripped back a bit and it’s more a kin to Remanufacture than Digimortal but that’s still means you have world class Industrial strength Cyber Metal, full o9f digital precise Modern Metal with a strong, yet somehow fragile almost mournful, haunting vocals that have become synonymous with the band.

Best tracks include: "Act Of God", "Bite The Hand That Bleeds", "Slave Labor", "Undercurrent" and "Cyberwaste". Also listen out for their version of "School" the Nirvana song.
