I don’t know whets going on but there seems to be a profusion of bands who initials begin with D, releasing a lot of good albums at the moment, Drowning Pool, Dream Evil, DragonForce, Demon Hunter, Damageplan, Deicide, Decapitated, Dirty Americans and here’s another, the return of one of the original Bay area Thrashers, Death Angel.
Maybe they were inspired by the return of Exodus, earlier this year and I am glad to report that their comeback album is well worth it. They were always know for their classic guitars riffs and they haven’t lost their touch the guitar work throughout is exemplary. Their Maidenish sound crossed with a touch of Metallic and Slayer still sounds good to my ears.
If you want proof you only need to listen to "The Devil Incarnate", "Spirit", "A Word To The Wise" and "Land Of Blood" for proof. If you’re too young to remember Death Angel the first time around this is a good place to start.
