AMARAN / PRISTINE IN BONDAGE

Sounding like a heavier version of Lacuna Coil mixed with Mandylion era The Gathering, Amaran have come up with a great CD that kicks some serious butt without compromising but still accessible.

The vocalist Johanna De Dierre has more than just vocal talent going for her and coupled with the slightly classically orientated Metal the result is very pleasing indeed. You can’t fault "Atropine", "Revolution Without Arms" or the current Top 10 download track "katharsis". The latter has a mix of gruff male vocals and Johanna’s and works exceeding well, with a really heavy sound, almost Death Metal and the track "Inflict", (which has a video to it) could easily be played on Rock Radio, if Evanescence can make it, I can see no reason why Amaran cant.
