ALTER BRIDGE / ONE DAY REMAINS

Featuring 3 ex members of Creed with a new vocalist, it say’s on the cover, woo, back up a minute, Creed have split, when did this happen, no one told me!

So with Creed gone that leaves us with Alter Bridge and I have to say the new vocalist is quite different, almost Chris Cornell like in places and this gives the band a new sound and maybe a different audience. Yes the Power Ballad’s are still there, "Open Your Eyes" for starters but they have a more, bluesy feel to them and when they Rock they certainly let rip as "Metalingus" will testify. All the tracks are flawless and without fault but still have a soul so if you liked Creed but thought they were lacking something you may find this very much to your liking.

Overall this is a very commercial and polished CD but from such professionals you would not expect anything else and maybe getting a new singer and changing the name of the band is a good idea, it certainly gives them a new start with no expectations and that gives them plenty of room to manoeuvre and if they had kept the name you would have had "I prefer the original singer to the new one" syndrome. Best tracks; "Open Your Eyes", "Find the Real", "Metalingus", "Broken Wings" (no not the Mr. Mister Song) and the hauntingly beautiful "In Loving Memory" which is obviously written from the heart.
