ZYKLON / AEON

I must confess that I bought this CD with a little trepidation as I was not overly enthralled with World Of Worms and I knew this would not be Emperor Mk 2 but thankfully my worries were unfounded.

This is a good Death Metal CD and although it’s not in the same league as the aforementioned bands league it does have some very good moment on it. The first ones come with the track "Two Thousand Years", everything is in place and the band is firing on all cylinders. There are moments on here that are real gems, "The Prophetic Method" is the first, you can clearly hare the ghost on the Emperor in the background and it has a wailing guitar bit in it that sounds like a soul in torment or the cry of a Banshee.

Other tracks to listen out for are "Electric Current" that has a very good use of synthesisers and electronics and "An Eclectic Manner" that is to my ears the best track on here and is almost as good as you know who.
