This is Voivod's 13th album and it sees quite a change in the band and all of it good for once. For a start, Piggy is back and for me and quite a few other fans this a really good news and secondly they have a new bass player by the name of Jason Newsted.

The music is as good as ever, with their Avant Garde Thrash Meal sound, toned down a bit, to make it more accessible and Piggy's Sci-Fi inspired lyrics are back in the game, this is probably the best Voivod CD since Outer Limits.

The ex Metallica bassist puts in a good performance but blends into the band like any good bassist should, adding a good solid framework for the rest of the band to embellish upon.

Standout tracks include, "I Don’t Wanna Wake Up", "The Multiverse", "Rebel Robot" and "We Carry On". If you haven't heard much Voivod material this is a good place to start and I feel this is their best chance in years for them to get the acclaim they richly deserve.
