NEVERMORE / ENEMIES OF REALITY

If you have never paid attention to Nevermore before, that is all about to change with the release of Enemies of Reality. This dark brooding, enigmatic piece of metal is about to propel them into international acclaim. All the tracks have a loose connection, although this is not a concept album, it does give it a cohesion that helps it rise above the others.

The sound is almost Avante Garde at times reminiscent of the great Emperor but they still retain their own unique sound and when the title track launches its self from the speaker it’s a joy to hear, "I, Voyager" and "Purify" are just as good and the pace only slows down when "Tomorrow Became Yesterday" makes an appearance. The track "Noumenon" is almost neo classical in feel and has a very creepy, haunting sound to it that is very different and enticing. This is without doubt Nevermore’s finest hour to date and I feel that this will make it into a lot of peoples Top 10’s of 2003, mine included.

Other stand out tracks include; "Who Decides", "Seed Awakening" and "Create The Infinite". This is extreme Metal with a touch of Melody at its best and when you hear it you will be blown away, promise.
