MOONSPELL / THE ANTIDOTE

This Portuguese Gothic Metal band have been around for 10 years and just keep evolving and getting better at the same time. The sombre, moody vocals are still there, as is the passionately dark atmospheric ambience. There are echoes of "Irreligious" and "Butterfly Effect" throughout but there is an extra element that is hard to put into words but exists anyway and prevails throughout the CD.

What you get is powerful Metal with more than a touch of Goth to it and when "In and Above Man", "Walk On the Darkside" and "Crystal Gazing" come flooding out of the headphones and fill your brain with great Metal like this you can’t help but enjoy it. If you Tiamat and don’t know much about Moonspell, this is a very good place to start.
