LULLACRY / CRUCIFY MY HEART
This one nearly slipped through the net it’s been out a while and it’s such a good CD I feel I have to put the review up on my site. They are a Finnish band fronted by Tannja who is as talented as she is good looking and because of this the Evanscene comparisons will arise This however is to do Lullacry a vast injustice as they make Evanescence look like an average band with one good track who got lucky.
Musically they have more in common with In Flames, Children Of Bodom and Lacuna Coil and this makes them heavier but still retaining the strong Melodic content that sounds SO good coming out of the radio. All the tracks are memorable, multi dimensional emotionally, well written, performed, arranged and musically they gel together so flawlessly that it’s easy to over look the superb guitars and keyboards that make up the Lullacry sound, not to mention the prefect voice of the lovely Tannja.
Picking out tracks is so hard because all could be hit singles if given enough airplay and I know what I’m talking about when it comes to radio but if pressed "Don’t Touch The Flame", "Alright Tonight", "Over Me" and "Heart Of Darkness" spring to mind immediately.
