KOVENANT / SETI

This is the latest album form the Sci-Fi inspired, Industrial Cyber trash Metallers and very good it is too, if you liked the last Rammstein CD "Mutter" you will love this.

It kicks off with "Cybertrash" with its mechanicalistic intent obvious form the start, but has plenty of Metal in there as well as a tinge of Goth for good measure. The second track "Planet Of The Apes" swiftly follows in a similar vein with a sound bite taken form the re make of the movie of the same name, saying "Bad Monkey" during the very effective chorus.

The 3rd track "Star To Star" has a very bleak, haunting quality about it and I find it strangely enticing, the lyrics especially, "from star we come, and to star we shall go". If you haven’t come across the Kovenant before this is a very good place to start. There are 2 bonus tracks on the first pressing and one of them is a very different version of the Metallica track "The Memory Remains", which is so different that at first you don’t realise that it is a Metallica track.
