ILL NINO / CONFESSION
They say that confession is good for the soul, so I freely confess to liking Ill Nino and I am not afraid to put this in print and tell the world. This Latin flavoured sextet have bought a new dimension to the Metal scene and invoke the best of Sepultura, Linkin’ Park, and Coal Chamber as well as many more but this does not distract from what they are, a very fine modern METAL band.
The Latino influence is all the way through this CD like Blackpool rock but the emphasis is still on ROCK, the rest is just their heritage but this is also their salvation and makes them stand out in the crowd. The opening track "Te Amo, I Hate You" sets the pace for Confessions and as well as the sing a long tracks like "How Can I Live" and "Have You Ever Felt" there are the aggressive, Metal anthems of "Two", "Cleansing", "When It Cuts" and "Re-Birth". The latter really is pushing the envelope and is Ill Nino at their best.
Don’t miss the chance to see them on tour in Europe October and November ’03, Spineshank and Chimairs, if you are reading this posthumously you can be sure you missed a very fine tour.
