GALLOGLASS / LEGENDS OF NOW AND NEVERMORE

When I reviewed the Limb Music Promo late last year (2002) several bands caught my attention, but one in particular, Galloglass, to be released in 2003 it said and here it is.

Galloglass hail from Hamburg, Germany a well known hot spot for Metal / Rock in Germany, there music is a fine blend of Melodic Epic Power Metal and Classical music not unlike the masters Rhapsody and Helloween with a bit of classic Judas Priest thrown in for good measure. Their thunderous sound is joy to my ears but they are not afraid to use the classical style to full potential, you will find a string quartet and even a violin in the mix as well as the fantastic twin guitar work witch overblown, simple and effective where it needs to be and blistering runs when called for.

There are no stand out tracks as all of them are fine pieces of work, you can pick any track at random and you will not be disappointed. If you liked the Insania CD I reviewed a few weeks ago you will love this, Euro Metal at its very very best.
