People say that MP3’S are killing music and that the artists are losing out on revenue but I think that they are an invaluable marketing tool that allows people to check out the band and see it they like them first and that’s what happened to me with Demon Hunter.
I can remember what I was looking for but I was trawling through the MP3.com site in my tireless quest to bring you the best in new music and spotted one of those featured artists pop ups, it looked intriguing so I downloaded the track "Infected" over the Xmas period and was so taken with the track it made my top 10 and I bought the CD, how many of you out there have done the same.
Demon Hunter have hard edged guitars, gruff vocals with some melodic harmonies here and there and are strongly influenced by Pantera, Slipknot with touches of MuDvAyNe thrown in for good measure. They are not exactly Nu Metal, more like Old School brought up to date and I defy you to download this track and not like it. Other notable tracks include; "Turn Your Back & Run", "Screams Of The Undead", "Through The Black" and the haunting, melodic slower track "The Gauntlet".
If I hadn’t have been looking for an MP3 I would probably never have come across this band, go on trust Justin, I wont let you down, there will be a sample of one of the tracks on my next Downloadable show.
