ARCH ENEMY / ANTHEMS OF REBELLION

This is the second CD from this Melodic Death Metal band to feature the new vocalist Angela and like "Wages Of Sin" it’s top notch Modern metal with plenty going for it and will win new fans and just as importantly keep us older fans happy. As with Wages you would not know she was a female from the vocals as her gruff style is very impressive and as good as any of her male counterparts and better many of them.

The guitar work of Michael and Christopher Amott is exceptional throughout this CD being both fluid and creative with some great riffs and soaring lead breaks. This isn’t one dimensional either as there is plenty of tempo changes for an example of this listen to "Dead Eyes See No Future" that starts off slowly before building into a Death Metal monster and even has an atmospheric piece in the middle. The track "Exist To Exit" ahs a similar feel to it and is one of the best moments on the CD and Angela‘s performance is sheer pleasure to listen too.

Initial copies come with an audio DVD with 3 live tracks and 3 remixed in 5.1 stereo.
