NICKELBACK / CURB

Picture the scene, it’s Friday afternoon at work it’s quiet, there is a stereo handy and I have this CD in my possession, the temptation was too great so as I worked I listened. A older work colleague called Keith came in and said "who’s this, what a rucking facket" and I thought to myself if that’s the kind of reaction it generated it must have some redeeming quialties to it and I warmed to it straight away.

Quite why Kerrang gave this 2K’s I don’t know because to my mind this is my favourite of the 3 Nickelback albums, it is rougher and has a hareder edged album, not so over produced and even reminds me of a stripped down Metallica, circa Re Load era, if you buy this CD expecting to hear How You Remind Me you will be disappointed but if like me you prefer Nickelback when they rock out you will love this. The riffs are tight and heavy and with Chad’s, James Hatfieldesque vocals the combination is very good indeed.

Stand out tracks include; "Pusher", "Falling Back On", "Sea Groove" which has a very funky feel to it and "Just Fear" and the nice thing is there isn’t a ballard among them. Don’t miss out on this ignore the Kerrang review, I did.
