A lot of people were surprised when Slipknot chose In Flames as their support but those of us who are fans, (me included) thought that a major support was long over due.
They have been around for nearly 10 years and have been largely ignored, mostly because they are European but despite this they have been constantly improving their sound and this latest CD is probably the one that will get them international acclaim.
Their sound is heavier than before, but still melodic, (maybe the Slipknot support inspired them) but whatever it was they have benefited greatly. They still have that Gothenburg sound but have added a new emphasis and aggression to the songs that is inspiring. No one can deny the metallic intent of the title track "Trigger", "Dark Signs", "Black & White" and the slower "Dawn Of A New Day" shows off their lighter side to great effect.
If the Metal world doesn't sit up and take notice of this, there is no justice, if you are curious about the band this is a great CD to start with.
