FEAR FACTORY / CONCRETE

It’s sad to think that this is going to be the last Fear Factory CD, unless they decide to release a best of or live, but I think that it is fitting that their last is also their first.

Previously unavailable Concrete is the Genesis of a band that would become great and stretch the boundaries of both Death and Industrial Metal and what you have here Rock fans is nothing more than a piece of Rock history. Listening to the tracks, most of them short like Soul Of A New Machine, some tracks are very Death Metal, more so than you have ever heard them before but even on these you can hear experimentation that would later lead them to the international stars that they later became.

This CD may not be everyone’s taste but if you like Fear Factory and you enjoyed the Soul album you will love this and like me be intrigued by the sound of a young band trying to make their way and the nice thing is we know how it ended, just a shame that it ended prematurely.

Listen out for: "Rise above Oppression", "Escape Confusion", "Suffer Age" and "Concrete". By the way did you know that Concrete in Swedish is B-Thong, well you do now.
