This is another one that was recommended to me by the Gezmeister and yet again he has come up trumps, I was actually aware of this one though because I downloaded a track from the Century Media website and I must confess it was the Dio album titled name of the band that took my interest and when I played it I was not disappointed.
Like the At Vance CD this is a superb blend of Power Metal with touches of neo classical thrown in for good measure, the Copenhagen Philemon orchestra is even featured in a couple of the song’s how over the top can that be when most people would have settled for just sampling and computer. As soon as "Chasing The Dragon", the lead track hits the speakers you know what to expect and as I said taking their name from a Dio album can only be a good thing. The guitar riffs come thick and fast and there are plenty of keyboards not to mention the lead vocalist who sound a lot like an amalgamation of several Rainbow vocalists, put this together with some of the best tunes and melodies you can find and like the At Vance CD you have a killer. Euro Metal can no longer be ignored, because there is so much quality material out there it’s only a matter of time before the music press realises that not everything good is American.
If you liked the Gamma Ray, Brainstorm and Vanden Plas CD’s that I have put you onto you will love this, AN ESSENTIAL PURCHASE.
