BLOOD DIVINE / RISE PANTHEON DREAMS

Formed in 1996 by 3 founder members of Cradle Of Filth and the original vocalist of Anathema, The Blood Divine put out 2 good CD's and disappeared, this is the best tracks from those 2 plus a few extras.

Their sound was very eclectic, mixing Classic Rock, Gothic, Doom and Death Metal and they would sound different for almost every track. The leadoff track is the mighty "Auerole" which kicks off with an atmospheric piece with a droning vocal piece, before going into some great Gothic Metal, very distinct and very good.

Then there is "Blue Visions" with it's classic Hammond organ sound and taking their lead from classic 70's Rock but still managing to keep their own identity. I6t's tracks like this and "Sensory Ecstasy" that made Blood Divine loved so much and those who caught them on tour with Cathedral before they broke up can count themselves fortunate.

This is a worthy compilation made even better by the inclusion of two previously un released songs and two rare tracks as for their cover of the Osmonds track Crazy Horses, it just proves that they had a sense of humour as well, a rare commodity these days.
