ANNIHILATOR / WAKING THE FURY

Canadian band Annihilator have been around 23 years and this is one of their best for years, their brand of Judas Priest inspired Power Metal is described very aptly by Jeff Waters himself in the first track, "Ultra Motion", "Speed and aggression, become an obsession, coming together as one, in Ultra Motion".

The power and the riffs come thick and fast and lay waste to all in their path, when "Torn", "Striker" and "Prime Time Killing" tear out of the speakers almost taking the front grille with them, but it’s not just the music it’s the lyrics that impress as well, "Striker" in particular would make an excellent football anthem and Jeff captures the feel of a good player perfectly.

A welcome return for Jeff Waters and crew it’s not exactly Alice in Hell, which is still a great album even now but it has its moments and there are enough guitar riffs to satisfy any air guitarist, enjoy.
