TORTURE KILLER / SWARM

This is absolutely fantastic, no nonsense back to the roots, old school Death Metal played with such passion and fervour that is almost impossible not to get swept away by it and what make this totally essential is that Chris Barnes of Six Feet Under is now on vocals and he puts one of his best performances ever.

The songs are tight as hell, fast, furious, no frills, heads down, head banging, riff laden with a guitar sound to die for and all the tracks are played to perfection, there are a few slower numbers that Grind like their lives depend on it. To single out particular tracks is difficult as all of them are brilliant but the ones that should not be missed are "Multiple Counts Of Murder", "Cannibal Gluttony", "Sadistic" and the slow grind that is "Dead Forever". The lyrics are as you would expect from Chris, very graphic and totally brutal like an audio description of a snuff movie but what do you expect from Death Metal,

If you are not sure what Death Metal is and don’t usually buy extreme Metal CD’s , then buy this, this is how it should be done and shows what can be achieved with the genre when aptitude and ability are channelled into a single blast of sadistically brutal and uncompromising Death Metal, I cant see how anyone can do better than this but I am sure Cannibal Corpse with have a damn good try.
